HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) (http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/hipaa) established patients’ privacy rights over their health information, and rules on who can see patient medical records. HIPAA is administered by the Office of Civil Rights, which is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Respira Medical® complies with all relevant regulations of HIPAA. Respira Medical® handles all patient/client records in a manner that ensures the accuracy, accessibility, confidentiality, and security of the data according to HIPAA requirements and other federal and state requirements.

If any patient believes their privacy rights have been violated, they may file a complaint with our office or with the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. To file a complaint with our office, contact the Privacy Officer, 443-200-0055, 521 Progress Drive, Suite A-C, BWI Tech Park, Linthicum, MD 21090. You will not be penalized for filing a complaint.
